Happy Thanksgiving 2023

Rejoicing is praise!

This Bible verse reminds us of the importance of seeking God and his strength. We can rejoice and appreciate all that He has given us and for the good present in our lives.

Oh give thanks to the LORD, call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples. Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; tell of all His wondrous works! Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice!

1 Chronicles 16:10

First Chronicles 16 contains the story of the Ark of the Covenant of God being brought back to Israel. The Ark, a wooden chest covered in gold, contained the Ten Commandments. The Ark is an artifact believed to be the most sacred relic of the Israelites.

God had instructed Moses to build the Ark during his 40-day stay upon Mount Sinai. The Ark was carried by the Israelites during their 40 years of wandering the desert. It was captured by the Philistines during a battle, who later returned it to Israel after misfortunes befell them. The Israelites celebrated this great day of gladness by offering sacrifices and burnt offerings. The Lord was glorified and praised.

This Bible verse is included in our Thanksgiving sermon along with readings from the healing textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy.

“Step by step will those who trust Him find that “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

Mary Baker Eddy

Join with thankful hearts

As a community, we gather to show appreciation for the love, grace, and goodness of God. You and your loved ones are warmly invited to rejoice with us at a Church Near Me for our special Thanksgiving Day service at 10 a.m. Each service will have an uplifting Thanksgiving Bible lesson sermon with inspiring messages and reflection on blessings we have received. It’s a great time to connect with your local community and offer praises to God.

Praise ye the Lord. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.
