Christian Science is based on the words and works of Jesus Christ, and the Holy Bible is our guide. Jesus said, "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."

"For three years after my discovery, I sought the solution of this problem of Mind-healing, searched the Scriptures and read little else, kept aloof from society, and devoted time and energies to discovering a positive rule. The search was sweet, calm, and buoyant with hope, not selfish nor depressing.  I knew the Principle of all harmonious Mind-action to be God, and that cures were produced in primitive Christian healing by holy, uplifting faith; but I must know the Science of this healing, and I won my way to absolute conclusions through divine revelation, reason, and demonstration." Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures 109: 11-22

"The revelation consists of two parts:

1. The discovery of this divine Science of Mind-healing, through a spiritual sense of the Scriptures and through the teachings of the Comforter, as promised by the Master.
2. Bible-based Healing

Christian Science is a Christian religion based on the Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ. It is not associated with Scientology, other churches, or cults. 

Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures is Mary Baker Eddy's main body of work that is a companion to the Bible.  It contains sections on Genesis and Revelation, and is part of the Christian Science Weekly Bible Lesson.

"Christian Science, understood, coincides with the Scriptures, and sustains logically and demonstratively every point it presents. Otherwise it would not be Science, and could not present its proofs. Christian Science is neither made up of contradictory aphorisms nor of the inventions of those who scoff at God. It presents the calm and clear verdict of Truth against error, uttered and illustrated by the prophets, by Jesus, by his apostles, as is recorded throughout the Scriptures." Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures 358:9

Christian Scientists appreciate that the method of healing employed by Christ Jesus and his disciples is a practice explained and demonstrated by Christian Science.

"Jesus demonstrated the power of Christian Science to heal mortal minds and bodies.  But this power was lost sight of, and must again be spiritually discerned, taught, and demonstrated according to Christ's command, with 'signs following.' Its Science must be apprehended by as many as believe on Christ and spiritually understand Truth. " Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures 110:25

Christian Science is reliant upon the power of God and the Christ. The prayerful process of uplifting thought above the material picture to the spiritual truths of being brings healing now, just as it did centuries ago.

"Jesus instructed his disciples whereby to heal the sick through Mind instead of matter.  He knew that the philosophy, Science, and proof of Christianity were in Truth, casting out all inharmony." Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures 271: 7-16

Mind refers to God, the omnipotent Creator of the universe, not the human mind.  Matter refers to the physical body and environment that we observe through the five physical senses.

"Jesus established his church and maintained his mission on a spiritual foundation of Christ-healing.  He taught his followers that his religion had a divine Principle, which would cast out error and heal both the sick and the sinning." Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures 136:1-5

There are thousands of recorded healings in the Bible and in Christian Science publications.  Many Christian Science healings have occurred by simply reading the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.  Science and Health has a chapter called Fruitage, consisting of healing testimonies. Testimonies of healings are also shared each week at Wednesday meetings at Christian Science churches around the world.

Christian Science Workers

Mary Baker Eddy was a healer and teacher of Christian Science.  This practice has continued with many Christian Science healers (practitioners), teachers (class instructors), and lecturers (Christian Science Board of Lectureship).

Christian Scientists throughout the world join local branch churches, serve at public Christian Science Reading Rooms/bookstores, teach Sunday School, study the Christian Science Bible Lesson each week, listen to its prayerful message at Sunday morning services, and give gratitude at Wednesday testimony meetings.  Find a Church or Reading Room.
