Christian Science & the power of healing prayer
Just prior to learning about Christian Science, for a period of fifteen months, I had been spending an average of $600 per month on vitamins and supplements my naturopathic doctor had prescribed, having as our goal my “ideal health.” Although we saw some progress in that direction, I was never fully convinced that this route would ultimately take me to that destination.
Once I came to Christian Science and realized, through Mrs. Eddy’s teachings, that it is our beliefs that ultimately cause or prevent health--in the same way a placebo can affect a person’s wellbeing - and that God is always knowing us as perfectly healthy and intact, I decided to adhere to Christ Jesus’ teaching to "take no thought for the body, what you shall eat or what you shall drink." I gently 'fired' my naturopath (we remain friends), and put my trust in God. For the past two years I haven’t taken so much as a vitamin C capsule, and I find myself in better health, with more energy & vigor, than ever before!
I know that God is all, and that in God’s thought there is nothing but wholeness. I am forever grateful to Christian Science for this truth and physical healing.
